Students can't effectively learn and teachers can't effectively teach if they don't feel like they are in a safe environment.
The safety of our students, staff and visitors to our campus is of utmost concern to us. As such, the St. Aloysius school administration recently commissioned a task force of active and retired local law enforcement to conduct an audit of our school's safety protocols and to evaluate our campus to determine the strengths and vulnerabilities of our physical premises. As a result, we have implemented a phased approach to addressing areas of improvement, and have added an increased focus on our areas of strength.
Here are some examples of our commitment to safety:
Parking lot traffic patterns have been updated and implemented in order to reduce the likelihood of traffic-related incidents.
Campus entry and exit points have been limited when school is starting and ending in order to better control who comes onto campus during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.
All entry and exit gates are locked once school is in session, and visitor access is only permitted through the front office; visitors must check in at the beginning of their visit, and check out upon completion of their visit.
Enhanced security and monitoring has been added to the front office entry point.
Recommended plans for additional/improved school fencing and gating, which will provide additional layers of security, are being implemented.
We are committed to continually reviewing our safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of all those on our campus.
