The Math Super Bowl was held on April 9th at the Visalia Convention Center. St. Aloysius School sent a team of eighth graders (Peyton Fernandes, Matthew Gourley, Nitin Gupta, Blake Martin and Gavin Roberts) and a team of seventh graders (Brandon Aldaco, Jared Faria, Kara La, Madison McCarthy and Blake Sousa)
The event consisted of three different “bowls”: the Power Bowl, in which students competed as individuals; the Pro Bowl, in which teams were made up of 5 students each from a different school; and the Team Bowl, in which teams were made up of 5 students from the same school.
Eighth graders Gavin Roberts and Blake Martin tied for first place for St. Aloysius in the Power Bowl. Madison McCarthy took first place in the seventh grade Power Bowl.
In the seventh grade Pro Bowl competition, Jared Faria and Blake Sousa earned Excellent ratings for their efforts while Madison McCarthy and Kara La earned Superiors.
The seventh grade St. Aloysius team also received a Superior rating in the Team Bowl.
Congratulations to all the St. Aloysius “mathletes” on a job well done!
